JACK ROUSH JR.
Roush began his racing career in go-karts, starting at six years of age in 1979 when he and his father, Jack, raced together in the Ford Thunderbird Kart Club at Flat Rock (Mich.) Speedway. During the five seasons they raced, the pair captured 4.5 championships and tied for the championship in the final half-season.
Interestingly, Roush ran the number 11 on his kart, a number which later adorned some of his father’s race cars. Even today, he still participates in some karting events at Kart2Kart in Sterling Heights, Mich.
An extremely talented and versatile racer, Roush has also participated in the NMRA drag racing series behind the wheel of a ROUSH Performance research-and-development car. In his first outing of 2006, Roush went to the third elimination round in his class, deeper than any of the other team drivers had made up to that point.
The 2007 KONI Challenge season was Roush’s first as a professional driver and he proved up to the task of learning both the racetracks as well as how the handle the heavier, full-bodied Ford Mustang in traffic. He performed admirably on both counts, typically qualifying mid-pack and then racing up into the top-10 before the driver change. The team, with co-driver Dean Martin, finished 11th in championship points and had a best finish of fourth in the season-finale at Virginia International Raceway.
In preparation for his road racing career, Roush also competed in a pair of 30-minute races with the American V8 Supercar Series event at the tight course of Gingerman Raceway where he finished fourth and second respectively in 2006. He also received invaluable tutoring in a private test session with road racing ace Boris Said, arguably one of the finest road racers ever.
Roush, 37, has a B.S. in Business Information Systems from the University of Colorado. He is married to Laura and has two daughters and a son.
2010– In the No. 61 Roush Performance Ford Mustang it has been an exciting year for Jack Roush Jr and Co-Diver Billy Johnson. They have finished in the top 5 in every race but the first one at Daytona International Speedway where they had some challenges with the car.

2008– Jack made his first podium with a third place finish at Barber Motorsports Park. He followed this up later in the year with another podium (for second) at V.I.R.
2007 – In the No. 59 ROUSH Performance Ford Mustang, competed in all but one (Daytona International Speedway) events on the KONI Challenge schedule with a best finish of fourth in the six-hour season-finale at Virginia International Raceway. Completed his rookie season by finishing eleventh in team points and 24th in the driver point standings. 2006 – Ran one race, the season-finale at Virginia International Raceway to gain experience. Started the race in 35th, finished in 16th. Early Career – Raced go-karts, starting at six years of age in 1979 when he and his father Jack Roush raced together in the Ford Thunderbird Kart Club at Flat Rock (Mich.) Speedway. During the five seasons they raced, the pair captured 4.5 championships and tied for the championship in the final half-season. Also has some NMRA Drag Racing experience.
