Family Reunion:

I am happy to report that I have made it to South Bend in One piece. On pulling up I was excited to see that I was not the first person here, rather there were quite a few One Lappers from years past (from here on out they will be referred to as Lap dogs, first timers are referred to as Lap Puppies). Pulling up I was greeted by warm smiles and friendly handshakes from those I had not seen in a year. This is one of the great things about the One Lap; the fact that you can pick up right where you left off a year ago, knowing that you are all about to undertake the toughest motorsport challenge in the country is a thought that builds instant camaraderie.

I am looking forward to the rest of tonight and tomorrow morning as our family finishes coming together and we all embark on the remarkable, exciting, and fun journey ahead of us all. Over the next week we will all have hardships, successes, up’s, and downs, but one thing will remain constant; the One Lap family will always be there for one another. Even though there will be some fierce competition this year we all know that in a time of crisis no team is truly alone.

Last Year when I left Southbend I remarked on how quiet it suddenly became and how empty the town seemed without the vibrancy of the One Lap. I am happy to report that Southbend is now alive again with the sights and sounds of the One Lap!

As the Media Director for the One Lap this year it is my goal to showcase the many facets that are the Tire Rack One Lap of America Presented by Grassroots Motorsports Magazine. You can look forward to features about the people, the cars, the charities, the tracks, and the stories that make the One Lap the unique event it is. Doing this is no easy task and it would not be possible without the support from my sponsors this year, The National Speedway Directory and Track Guide. In a joint venture with them as well as Go Pro, Rosenthal Media will be creating exclusive content featuring Track Guide and the Speedway Directory all throughout the One Lap so be sure to look for it and PLEASE support them.
